VIRGINIA STATE SENATOR & IT SPECIALISTS PAY COURTESY CALL ON PUBLIC TELECOMMUNICATIONS MINISTER

Virginia State Senator representing the 13th District of Virginia, Richard Black, paid a Courtesy Call on Public Telecommunications Minister, Catherine Hughes on Tuesday January 7, 2020.  Senator Black was accompanied on an official visit to Guyana by Guyana-born Mayor of Purcellville, Virginia, Kwasi Fraser and a delegation of four IT and business specialists.

The delegation enjoyed a lively discussion with Minister Hughes on the absolute importance of connectivity and easy access to the Internet to the development of a country.  This subject is the forte of Guyana-born Ian G. Hall who is now the President and CEO of ATISS, a global company that specializes in Information Technology security, data analytics, and policy and strategy development. He has worked as a Consultant to the United States Department of Defense for several years.

Data Architect and Cloud Technologist, Darren Culbreath, was also a visiting delegate, as was George Mallon of Mallon Oil, and Kirk D. Mitchell, a global Procurement Specialist.

The main purpose of the State Senator’s and delegation’s visit to Guyana was to meet with requisite officials to discuss matters related to energy and infrastructure.
