The Ministry of Public Telecommunications is about to launch the first pilot for the AGRICULTURE COMMODITIES EXCHANGE App. Extension Officers at the National Agriculture Research and Extension Institute (NAREI) are now familiar with the app and are helping farmers and their technologically savvy children to use it.
Officers attached to the New Guyana Marketing Corporation have also been trained.
Several large private sector companies also plan to use it to gain operational efficiencies.
The first pilot project will be launched in mid July in Region 5.
FARMERS MARKET app is an effective solution to the decades-old marketing problems for farm produce.
